"My call
tonight is for
every American
to commit at
least two years
– 4,000 hours
over the rest of
your lifetime
– to the
service of your
neighbors and
your
nation."
President
George W. Bush

The
Pledge of
Allegiance to
the Flag
"I
pledge
allegiance to
the Flag of the
United States
of America
, and to the
Republic for
which it stands,
one Nation under
God,
indivisible,
with liberty and
justice for
all"
It
should be
rendered by
standing at
attention facing
the flag with
the right hand
over the heart.
When not in
uniform men
should remove
their headdress
with their right
hand and hold it
at the left
shoulder, the
hand being over
the heart.
Persons in
uniform should
remain silent,
face the flag
and render the
military salute.
~~~~~
O Flag of our
Union
O
flag of our
Union,
To you we'll be
true,
To your red and
white stripes,
And your stars
on the blue;
The emblem of
freedom,
The symbol of
right,
We children
salute you,
O flag fair and
bright!
This
was taught in
Classrooms
over a
Century
I
AM
YOUR
FLAG
I
was born on the
14th of June,
1777. I am
more than just a
cloth shaped
design.
I
am the silent
sentinel of
Freedom, the
emblem of the
greatest
sovereign nation
On
earth.
I am the
inspiration for
which American
Patriots gave
their lives and
Fortunes.
I walk in
silence with
each of your
Honored Dead as
I fly over the
White
Rows
of crosses, and
have flown
through Peace
and War, Strife,
and Prosperity.
My
Red is the blood
that has been
shed, My White
is the tears
shed by
Americans
Who
lost their sons.
My Blue is for
God’s heaven
under which I
fly. My Stars
show
Unity
of 50 states.
Old Glory is my
nickname, honor
me, respect me,
defend me
As
those who have
gone before us
did. Never let
my enemies tear
me down from
My
lofty position,
lest I never
return.
