A Little About Myself

Hello, my name is Virginia and I was born in Kassel, Germany.  We migrated to Australia when I was about two years old. I have two wonderful sister’s Loretta and Violetta (my Mum was a movie buff). We were a very close knit family, and my Mum always taught us that “ Friends come and go, but family is forever”.

My Mum was born in Kaunas, Lithuania and at home tried to maintain her traditions.   We spoke Lithuanian at home, but as time passed we began speaking English more and more, and now I am the only member of the family that can still speak my Mothers’ tongue. I am very rusty at it and am currently taking some refresher courses.

I have been married to my wonderful husband Tom for 25 years now and have been very happy and totally spoiled. Tom is my best friend, and I have been blessed to have him in my life. We have six children and seven (soon to be nine) grandchildren, we are raising two of them and although we are totally committed to our grandchildren their education and their well being, it does not give us much time for much else, and this is why I decided to begin my web site.

Both my sister’s still live in Australia with their families respectively, and I go back home to visit them as often as I can. Sadly, I have not been able to do so for the last few years due to our commitments to our grandchildren. I love gardening, reading, computers, I also collect antique tea cups, and Hall teapots, my favorite author is Jeffery Archer, and my favorite series of books are “The End Of Times”, I am also beginning a Memoir course in the next few days.

I have traveled extensively with my husband over the years, we lived in Hong Kong for a period of time, and there are too many places that we have visited to list them all here.  As I establish my site I will add more photo’s of my beautiful family. Thank you for stopping by and please sign my guest book.

My friend Caroline who did all the decorations shown in the great
