NSW is the perfect place to start or
finish an
Australian
Adventure.
Sydney
is the most
famous harbour
city in the
world and voted
the world's most
exciting city,
Sydney
has something
for everyone and
is a must for
every visitor to
our shores.
Because
Sydney
is a major
international
gateway into
Australia,
it is also the
city to start
and end your
Australian
adventure.
The
largest island
in the world and
a continent in
its own right,
Australia
is one great
land with many
diverse
qualities,
roughly the same
size as
North
America, but
with a 10th of
the population
(approx 19
million),
continental
Europe
could fit within
its shores. It
is one of the
top three
destinations of
international
travelers. The
unique and
diverse
attractions of
this great land
allow visitors
several holiday
experiences in
one destination.
Sydney Monorail operates every day of the
year from early
until late. The
Monorail runs
every 3 to 5
minutes linking
the City with
Darling
Harbour
and providing
easy access to
many of
Sydney
's
famous tourist
attractions.
Australia
offers a world
of adventures.
From
world-renowned
beaches to the
elemental
outback, lush
rainforests and
truly amazing
wildlife, to the
vineyards,
restaurants and
the buzzing
cities. Meet the
locals and
discover
Australia.
Sydney
is the shining
star of the
southern
hemisphere. The
white-sailed
Sydney Opera
House, caught
mid-billow over
the waters of
Sydney Cove, and
the
Sydney
Harbour
Bridge
are the pride
and joy.
The Rocks is one of the most-visited parts of
Sydney. Nestled at the foot of the
Sydney
Harbour
Bridge
and on the
western shores
of Sydney Cove,
The Rocks is the
foundation of
Sydney
and
Australia,
and of enormous
historical
significance. It
is often
described as
Sydney's
outdoors museum.
The Rocks is the oldest area of
Sydney
and has recently
undergone an
amazing
transformation.
The old district
was transformed
into a vibrant
pocket of cafes
and restaurants
with curious
tourist shops
and stalls.
Bridgeclimb is
Australia's
most exciting
and accessible
adventure on one
of the world's
most modern
wonders ~ The
Sydney Harbour
Bridge.
Experience
the incredible
three hour
adventure that
will take you to
the top of the
Sydney
Harbour
Bridge
some 134 meters
above sea level.
You can climb
day or night.
My sister and
niece did this
climb and highly
recommend it.
A professional
trained Climb
Leader
accompanies each
group and gives
you interesting
historical facts
on the
Sydney
Harbour
Bridge
and
Sydney
sites.
CULTURE
Australia
is very much a
multi-cultural
nation, having
enjoyed waves of
immigration
starting with
the Australian
Aboriginals
followed by the
English. Since
the Second World
War,
Australia
has received
millions of
migrants, with
the population
roughly tripling
over a period of
fifty years.
However,
although
Australia
is similar in
size to the
continental
USA,
its' population
is still only
around 18/19
million and is
heavily
concentrated in
the major
coastal cities.
Much of the Australian life-style revolves
around the
outdoors and
sport and we
love to be
active by bush
walking, skiing,
surfing,
sailing,
swimming, or any
other activity
that takes us
out into the sun
and open air.
Located less
than two hours
drive from
Sydney,
the Blue
Mountains
offers
spectacular
views of our
untouched
natural bush
land as well as
interesting rock
formations and a
great variety of
native wildlife.
This region is
truly a natural
wonderland of
waterfalls,
valleys and
indescribable
views that
stretch to the
horizon. There
are numerous
lookouts,
walking tracks
and picnic spots
where you can
just sit and be
one with nature
or explore the
natural beauty
of the
Australian bush.
As mentioned
before Katoomba
is a main
tourist
destination in
the
Blue Mountains
combining spectacular views with a wide
variety of
accommodation.
It is the heart
of the
Blue
Mountains
and is where the
main attractions
of the
Blue Mountains
are, such as the
Scenic Railway,
Scenic Skyway,
the famous Three
Sisters.
Southwest
of Katoomba on
the north
western fringe
of the National
Park are the
Jenolan
Caves.
The nine
limestone caves
are known as
some of the best
naturally
decorated caves
in the world,
and you can view
the stunning
limestone
stalagmites and
stalactites on
several tours of
the caves, which
are
conducted daily.
The
Red
Center
and
Central
Australia
is mostly a very
arid region that
still contains
many of
Australia
's
natural wonders
as well as some
fascinating
history.
Throughout this
region there is
some spectacular
scenery
including the
MacDonnell
Ranges,
Simpson
Desert,
Kings
Canyon,
Uluru (Ayres
Rock) and the
Olgas. The major
cities found
within this
region include
Alice
Springs, Tennant
Creek and Yulara.
Central Australia
has a surprising number of unique
animals, birds
and reptiles
that live in
desert. The main
center of
Tasmania
's
South is
Hobart.
The South is
made up of
Georgian and
Victorian
buildings,
majestic
mountains,
waterways,
unique fauna and
flora, plus
artworks and
crafts. The
regions tourist
centers are
Hobart,
Richmond,
the
Huon
Valley
and the
Derwent
River.
Hobart
is
Australia
's
southern most
capital. The
city straddles
the
Derwent
River,
with
Mount
Wellington
as a magnificent
backdrop.
Hobart
has one of the
deepest harbours
in the world.
Hobart
combines the
charming old and
the exciting new
against a
backdrop of
mountain and sea.
The city is
seeped in
history, and is
Australia's
second oldest
settlement.
Hobart's
historical
center is
Salamanca Place,
complete with
cobble stone
lanes, sandstone
warehouses, arts
and crafts shops,
cafes and
restaurants.
Just 20 minutes
from the city is
Mt Wellington.
Its 1.234m peak
provides
panoramic views
of the city and
estuary beyond.
