SYDNEY:
N.S.W.
Sydney
is my home and I
have
resided
in many
suburbs
of
Sydney, my childhood was
spent
growing
up in
Edgecliffe,
and the
junior years of my
education
were
spent at
St.
Josephs
School. My senior and graduating years were spent at St. Mary’s
Catholic
College, which was
an all girls
school
with a
very
strict
curriculum
run by
the
Sister’s
of
Charity
Nun’s
who,
needless
to say
were
also
very
strict
and
enforced
the
rules,
discipline
and
punishment
to the
letter
with no
exception.
Features for the
city of
Sydney
are several beautiful parks, one of which is called
Hyde Park
after the famous
London
park. Opposite
Hyde
park is
St.
Mary’s
Cathedral,
this is
where I
attended
high
school,
and it
has
since
been
transformed
into an
all
boys’
school.
The
Domain,
which
was
opposite
our
school,
is home
to all
the
Domain
concerts
where
you can
attend
classical,
opera,
jazz,
blues
and
country
music
concerts
all
performed
outdoors.
This is
also the
home of
free
speech:
as here
every
Sunday,
you will
find
speakers
(mostly
individual
citizens)
orating
to
anyone
that
cares to
listen
on
subjects
varying
from
sports,
to
religion
and
politics.
Sydney
is a fascinating
city and
has a
great
deal of
history
attached
to it.
Sydney
is also the
gateway
to
Australia, not forgetting that
Canberra
is the capital of
Australia,
Sydney
is filled with different cultures, flavours, beaches, sights sounds and
beauty
that is
comparable
to any
leading city in the world.
I love
the city
with its
magical
pull,
its
beaches,
parks
and
atmosphere
this is
the
place
that I
call
home.
BONDI
BEACH:
Who can
leave
Bondi
out of
the
equation
. . . my
family
and I frequented
Bondi
Beach
regularly
throughout
the
year.
It is one
of
Australia’s most famous beaches and amongst the world's most well-known.
It is
located
in the
Municipality
of
Waverley
in east
Sydney. The beach, which is roughly
a
kilometer
long,
and is
enclosed
at the
north
and
south by
headlands,
lifeguards
patrol
the
beach
between
the
yellow
and red
flags
each day
of the
year.
SYDNEY
GARDENS:
The
Royal
Botanical Garden
is an oasis of beautiful landscape, scenery and greenery in the heart
of the
city.
Situated
on the
shores
of the
Harbour,
the
Gardens
are
within
minutes
of
Circular
Quay,
The
Sydney
Art
Museum
and the
Overseas
Shipping
Terminal
and
Central
Business
District.
The
Botanical
gardens
were
always
my
favourite
choice
on
Sundays.
The gardens foreshore walk
provides
any
visitor
with
spectacular
views of
our
famous
Harbour,
Harbour
Bridge, the Opera House
and the
city
skyline.
The
Gardens
were
established
in 1816,
and
include
the site
of the
earliest
cultivated
land on
the
Australian
continent.
It is
Australia's
oldest
scientific
institution
and one
of the
world's
leading
botanic
gardens.
